What Will You Learn?

Part 1- Finding the Neutral Seat

  • Benefits of riding with a neutral seat/pelvis
  • Explanation and video demonstration (with real students!) of three different exercises that focus on helping the student find the neutral seat
  • Instructor thoughts and discussion of the video demonstration shown that featured actual students
  • Discussion on disability considerations for each exercise

Part 2- Incorporating Brain Gym

  • Learn about Brain Gym
  • What type of student may benefit from these exercises
  • Explanation and video demonstration (with real students!) of four different Brain Gym activities while mounted
  • Instructor thoughts and discussion of the video demonstration shown that featured actual students
  • Detailed information on the benefits of each exercise and how it may aid in student progression

Part 3- Incorporating Yoga

  • Explanation and video demonstration (with real students!) of five different yoga poses that have been adapted for use in a mounted lesson
  • Detailed explanation of the benefits and purpose of each yoga pose
  • Disability considerations for each pose
  • Suggested modifications for the pose depending on the ability of your student
